Community Connection: FIC’s Distributor for Bacolod

By Fruits in Ice Cream, October 29, 2021

FIC Bacolod Operations Manager, Joshua is a proud graduate of two degrees, one in Political Science and one in the Culinary Arts, and loves being in the business of making people happy. He and the rest of the team are no strangers to the ice cream game nor to the people of Bacolod who love FIC, producing and delivering joy in the form of ice cream and turning customers into friends for almost five years now.

We asked Josh to share his and the team’s experiences as the main FIC plug in the city, and here’s what he had to say:

What urged you to be a distributor for FIC?

In 2016, we were offered a space in SM Bacolod because of the success of our Cebu distribution which has been around since 2008. Now, four years later, we have been fortunate enough to have expanded to another location, as well as being present in several supermarkets, restaurants, and hotels throughout Bacolod city.

What’s the best-selling flavor in your area?

It’s definitely Avocado.

What is your relationship with customers like?

Both professional and personal relationships. Our supplier for cartridge ink and printer rolls, for example,  first started as our customers. I also have some good friends who started as customers.

Do you have any loyal customers? If so, why do you think they keep coming back for FIC?

Yes, over the years, we have made a following of loyal customers, some of whom would come to our stores weekly, some even daily (pre-covid, of course.)

They come back because of the superior quality of the ice cream and because of the wide selection of flavors, as well as our excellent customer service.

What’s your take on ice cream in general? What does it mean to you?

Ice cream is an indulgence; it’s a type of dessert that is eaten anytime or anywhere. In my opinion, it makes people happy. Through working at our stores, I’ve seen how it can change a person’s mood and how it can brighten people’s days. That, to me, is what makes ice cream special.
