Community Connection: FIC’s Area Distributor for Rizal

For our Northerners: winter is coming. Not the terrible kind of frosty, but the sweet, delightful kind of chill! That’s right; we’re back with our Community Connection series. Say hello and happy new year to our ice cream king of the North, JP Sta. Ana!

JP is our area distributor for Cainta, Rizal, and makes the most of that WFH lifestyle by starting each day, waking up early, and meditating. He manages his online team meetings in the afternoon but makes time to decompress by playing with his daughter or catching up with loved ones. To get both the body and mind moving, JP also carves out time to exercise and learn new things. Lately, he’s been looking into the stock market and real estate. On top of all that, he’s got his side hustle as an FIC area distributor, in charge of growing the home distributor network in the Rizal area. We’re definitely taking notes on how to achieve this work-life balance.

We asked JP to share his experiences as an area distributor, and here’s what he had to say:

Can you tell us what led you to join our community of home distributors?

I joined because I love ice cream. I believe in the superior quality of the FIC brand. I saw that there was an opportunity to market it and make it available to the people of Rizal, and I wanted to be a part of it.

What’s the best selling flavor in your area?

My area’s popular choices are Belgian Chocolate and Mixed Berries, both from the No Sugar Added line. I believe it’s because the bulk of our customers are moms and seniors, who are selective eaters who want to avoid sugar, so they opt for healthier dessert choices for themselves and their families.

Tell us more about your experience with your customers. What’s that exchange like?

We have a great relationship with our customers. We help them book their deliveries, package their orders in an insulated bag for a special touch, and even give them discounts for their delivery fees. Even when we’re not coordinating for orders, we’ll send them a “kumusta” from time to time just to check in with them.

Do you have loyal customers? If so, why do you think they love FIC?

I think our customers love FIC because being part of the FIC family is extra special. Every time we deliver a pint of FIC to their homes, we serve them comfort food and take part in their celebrations. And while enjoying their ice cream, they can create the ultimate bonding experience with their family and friends.

What’s your personal take on ice cream in general? What does it mean to you?
I believe we all have an emotional connection to ice cream, and that’s why it’s enjoyed by both children and adults alike. We associate it with our childhood’s happy memories, like birthdays, family celebrations, and other special occasions, which then develops into a lifelong love for ice cream.
